# Solving Conflicts in Gantt Chart

In the **Order Gantt View**, you can click a Work Step and choose:

- **Fill in Gaps left**
- **Fill in Gaps right**

This will shift the selected Work Step as far as it can go left or right, until:

- It touches or overlaps with the previous Work Step.
- The Resource has no more capacity during the new time slot.

### Plan Conflictless for Successors

In the **Resource Gantt View**, you can select a Work Step and schedule all successor Work Steps **forward without Resource conflicts**.
*Plan Conflictless for Successors *means that this rescheduling is applied on **only the successing Work Steps of your chosen Work Step. **The selected Work Step itself and all previous Work Steps remain **unchanged**.

This rescheduling will remove all **Resource conflicts**, tasks may be moved later, **even if these exceed the predefined delivery date.**

### Plan Conflictless from Here

*Plan Conflictless from here *means that this rescheduling is applied **starting at the current point in the plan**, excluding what was scheduled before this time.

All tasks that are planned **after this point **will be scheduled so that no machine or person is used at the same time. 

This rescheduling will remove all **Resource conflicts**, tasks may be moved later, **even if these exceed the predefined delivery date.**

# Free Move

The **Free Move** option lets you move a Work Step freely, ignoring the usual predecessor-successor relationships defined in the Technology.

You can enable and disable the Free Move feature on or off under **Administration > Settings**.

# Optimize Utilization in Resource Gantt chart

In the **Resource Gantt View**, you can optimize how work is arranged on a resource:

This tool:

- Closes gaps between Work Steps.
- Removes unnecessary overlaps.
- Re-orders Work Steps from left to right.

However:

- It only works when all Work Steps use the **same resource** across production orders.
- It stops if:
  - A production order uses **multiple resources**.
  - It hits a **paused Work Step**.

The feature can’t be used with resources marked as “Allow Multi-Assignment.”

# Locking / Fixing Production Order  

## Why is there a lock icon?

A **lock icon** in the Gantt Chart means that Production Order is locked and cannot be moved in the schedule.

If you want to **lock a Production Order and its Work Steps** in place:

1. Right-click the Production Order.
2. Choose **Lock Production Order**.

Now the Production Order is **locked** and **cannot be moved**.

## How to unlock a production order?

You can right-click again to **unlock **a Production Order if you need to make changes.
