planeus offers handy gantt chart tools to help you fine tune your schedule and keep your production running smoothly closing gaps in the order gantt view , you can click a work step and choose fill in gaps left fill in gaps right this will shift the selected work step as far as it can go left or right, until it touches or overlaps with the previous work step the resource has no more capacity during the new time slot plan conflictless for successors in the resource gantt view , you can select a work step and schedule all successor work steps forward without conflicts this avoids resource conflicts but may cause orders to finish later than planned free move the free move option lets you move a work step freely, ignoring the usual predecessor successor relationships defined in the technology you can enable and disable the free move feature on or off under administration > settings optimize utilization in resource gantt chart in the resource gantt view , you can optimize how work is arranged on a resource this tool closes gaps between work steps removes unnecessary overlaps re orders work steps from left to right however it only works when all work steps use the same resource across production orders it stops if a production order uses multiple resources it hits a paused work step the feature can’t be used with resources marked as “allow multi assignment ” locking / fixing production order why is there a lock icon? a lock icon in the gantt chart means that production order is locked and cannot be moved in the schedule if you want to lock a production order and its work steps in place right click the production order choose lock production order now the production order is locked and cannot be moved how to unlock a production order? you can right click again to unlock a production order if you need to make changes planeus's gantt chart tools will help you adjust your plan quickly and safely , keeping your schedule neat and your resources efficiently used
