Gaps in planeus
The Gap List in planeus shows times when resources are not available, like:
- Machine maintenance
- Employee absences
Types of Gaps
There are two types of gaps in planeus:
Normal Gaps
- These gaps change resource availability.
- Any Work Steps scheduled during a normal gap are automatically recalculated to account for the downtime.
How it looks:
- Shown as a gray area in the back of the bar.
- The Work Step will be automatically extended if it overlaps with this gap.
Informational Gaps
What is the orange shaded area in the Gantt chart?
An orange shaded background in the Gantt chart means there are Informational Gaps.
- These gaps are only visual markers.
- They do not affect planning or recalculate Work Steps.
How it looks:
- Shown as an orange shaded background in the Gantt chart.
- The Work Step stays the same even if it overlaps with this gap.
You can create and manage Gap Reasons (like "maintenance" or "training") under Configuration.
planeus uses Gaps to help you spot and manage downtimes in your schedule, keeping your planning realistic and up to date!
